Balayage

Will assistants be working on my hair?

Yes. A balayage is a team effort. Assistants may help with preparation and certain application steps, but your stylist remains fully in charge and oversees the entire service from start to finish.

A balayage typically takes 4–7 hours. Please plan for a full day.

We ask that clients arrive no later than 15 minutes past their scheduled time.

Some steps, such as detangling or teasing, may cause mild discomfort.

We recommend wearing clothing you wouldn’t mind getting stained.

We offer complimentary revisions when appropriate. Balayage services are non-refundable once started.

48 hours notice required. Late cancellations or missed appointments are subject to a fee up to $250.

Deposits are required for new installs and are non-refundable once hair is ordered.

Extensions

How do I book an appointment for extensions?

A consultation appointment is required first. You can book your appointment by sending us an email at info@vividbydv.ca or calling our salon at 905-990-8777 and one of our Salon Coordinators will get in touch with you within 24 – 48 hours to book your appointment.

Allow for 3 – 10 days after your consultation for booking your installation appointment.

You will go through a thorough consultation given by our team of extension specialist. During the consulation, we will assess your hair, colour match, advise the best method for your hair texture and hair goals and provide a quote. We will go through the process required to maintain your extensions.

Expect to vibe with ViviD for 3-6 hours depending on the method chosen for your hair extensions.

Each client receives a custom coloring to match your natural or desired hair colour on the day of the consultation. This is all a part of the process and is included in your quoted price for installation. 

Please Note: Colour is not included in the cost for your maintenance (Move ups). There is an additional investment if you would like to re-tone your extensions by one of our colour experts.

Every method of extensions lasts a different amount of time depending on the method you choose to go with. You will be given all the required knowledge on the day of your consultation.

Yes! If you require wearing your hair up, we will customize your extension method and placement to allow you to wear it in many styles. We advice to give your hair 1 week to 10 days after installation to start wearing your hair up.

Going on vacation with your extensions is not a problem but should you decide to go in any type of water where the pH level is different, your extensions are at risk for temporary damage, change in colour, dryness, texture change.

Please also keep in mind that sun block/sunscreen can cause a chemical reaction with your hair that might result in permanent damage.

Depending on the method you choose for extensions, with proper care, some methods can allow for hair to be reused and last between 8 months to a year while other methods do not allow the hair to be reused and provide a lifespan of 4 months. This will be further explained in your consultation.

Extensions are not damaging with the right installation and placement. It is important that you take care of the extensions using the proper home maintenance and products. Many of the times we apply extensions to clients with pre-existing hair damage or thinness and after removing the extensions you will notice healthy hair growth. This all depends on the way you take care of them at home. You will be instructed on all the knowledge needed to maintain your extensions during your consultation.

We only custom colour and zone tone extensions clients of ViviD salon. We cannot lighten and make extensions brighter, we can only create a seamless darker transitional blend, working in the colour level that the hair extensions are in. This is why proper colour matching is important during the consultatio
